CERTAINTY OR UNCERTAINTY
Certainty or uncertainty – Which one would you choose? . Life works when we have a balance of these two core needs. Let me paint a picture for you – Our minds are meant to learn and grow as they have an immense capacity to store and access large amounts of information. Certainty provides us safety, comfort, stability and protects us in the way we calculate risks and assess the pros and cons of different scenarios across our personal and business lives. We choose our partners, career and make our life choices through the need to have certainty and avoid the fear and doubt that creeps in if we dont have it. On the other hand uncertainty is the space and place where we grow, look for variety, seek adventure where we can challenge and grow out of our comfort zone to learning and experiencing new things.
Here is the thing – Seperately they play an important part in the quality and experiences in our lives but can also create – fears, doubts, restrictions, unmet potential and opportunity or risk taking, unstability, carelessness, relationship and job hopping, searching for the next high or moment etc. Like sweet and sour if we can get a perfect balance of both core needs it can provide a platform for full expression with responsibiliy that allows us to safely grow and explore our worlds around us in a more meaningful way. Go ahead and try the opposite to your default nature – If you are a person who lives life in certainty, try different things, take up a new sport, hobby or interest that you always wanted to do, or change the nature of your routine at work or relationships that allows some serendipity, letting go of control and seeing what happens or just be different just for the heck of it – surprise yourself, you will be delighted. If you have too much unceratinty – look for the variety in the repetition of life and be OK with this and show some restraint with others and understand that a blend of certainty and solid planning with control can make your life ventures and relationships even more meanigful.
